Community Center Content Management
Template Driven - Community Center pages are generated using templates, pre-designed web pages into which an editor can drop content without any knowledge of HTML or other web technologies. Community Center templates can support any website design, and LIAA can provide a custom design for your site.
Content Variety - Users can add formatted text, images and downloadable documents to any page, and can easily add new pages to the site. In addition, task-specific components allow the addition of focused content, including calendar events, news articles, comments on posted topics, database records, map locations and map views.
Thin Client - No special software is required to work with the website. A user can edit any content from any web-connected computer with a web browser.
Distributed Access and Security - Site Administrators can easily specify which users or groups of users can add, edit or delete any content on any page of the site. A variety of users can therefore participate in the website at a variety of levels. Workflow and Site Statistics - All content added to any component can be sent through an approval system that requires authorized users to view and approve the content before it is displayed to the public. Workflow history is logged and available to Site Administrators along with a wide variety of other site statistics (hits, page views, time on site, etc.).
User Input - Community Center interfaces allow administrative users to build online forms, polls and surveys to obtain information from anonymous or registered users. In addition, forms can be integrated with PayPalTM payment interfaces to allow online credit card payments.
Map Integration - A Community Center site that includes maps allows all editor users to add links to maps in any content area on the site. In addition, map views can be placed on pages created with certain templates.
Personalization - End users can save, annotate, modify and email custom sets of links to any content on the site including pages, maps and database query results.
Database Integration - Community Center is designed to host interfaces for a variety of databases. Databases developed to a standard template can be edited, queried and viewed online. Databases managed by other applications can be queried and viewed through standard Community Center interfaces. Typical applications include parcel searches, deed document searches and historical data searches.
Organization Communication Tools - Community Center includes tools that assist dispersed individuals to communicate about community processes and events. Users can easily add online forums and build HTML-formatted e-newsletters.
Customization - Community Center is an applications development environment as well as a complete application. Custom database or mapping applications can be quickly developed. This page last updated on 11/3/2010.
